Configuring your test

1 To observe details for a discovered instrument, highlight
the instrument on the Discovered Devices screen, then
press OK.
The Device Details screen appears.
2 If you want to automatically apply the discovered instru-
ment's MAC or IP address to your instrument's configura-
tion, do the following:
a To use the discovered instrument's MAC or IP address
as the destination MAC or IP address for your trans-
mitted traffic, highlight the checkbox under Tx, and
then press OK.
b To filter received traffic using the discovered instru-
ment's destination MAC or IP address, highlight the
checkbox under Rx, and then press OK.
3 Press the Accept soft key to save the settings, or the
Cancel soft key to return to the previous screen without
saving them.
Details were displayed, and your instrument is configured
based on the settings you selected.
Configuring your tests involves launching an application,
selecting a test mode, and then specifying settings on the
configuration menus. You can also optionally detect other
JDSU test instruments on the same subnet (see
Connect to discover another JDSU test set" on page
automatically configure various settings based on the discov-
ered instruments capabilities.
Table 9
lists each of the available applications and test
modes.
– You must select a Terminate application to run Ping, or
Traceroute tests.
