8.7 Port Setup

Use t his screen t o configure Swit ch port set t ings. Click Ba sic Se t t ing > Por t Se t up in t he
navigat ion panel t o display t he configurat ion screen.
Chapter 8 Basic Setting

192.168.1.1.
Ent er t he I P subnet m ask of your Swit ch in dot t ed decim al not at ion for exam ple
255.255.255.0.
Ent er t he I P address of t he default out going gat eway in dot t ed decim al not at ion, for
exam ple 192.168.1.254.
Ent er t he VLAN ident ificat ion num ber associat ed w it h t he Swit ch I P address. This is t he
VLAN I D of t he CPU and is used for m anagem ent only. The default is " 1" . All port s, by
default , are fixed m em bers of t his " m anagem ent VLAN" in order t o m anage t he device
from any port . I f a port is not a m em ber of t his VLAN, t hen users on t hat port cannot
access t he device. To access t he Swit ch m ake sure t he port t hat you are connect ed t o is
a m em ber of Managem ent VLAN.
Ent er t he I P address for m anaging t he Swit ch by t he m em bers of t he VLAN specified in
t he V I D field below.

Type t he VLAN group ident ificat ion num ber.
Ent er t he I P address of t he default out going gat eway in dot t ed decim al not at ion.
Click Add t o insert t he ent ry t o t he sum m ary t able below and save your changes t o t he
Swit ch's run- t im e m em ory. The Swit ch loses t hese changes if it is t urned off or loses
power, so use t he Sa ve link on t he t op navigat ion panel t o save your changes t o t he
non- volat ile m em ory when you are done configuring.
Click Ca nce l t o reset t he fields t o your previous configurat ion.
This field displays t he index num ber of t he rule. Click an index num ber t o edit t he rule.
This field displays t he I P address.
This field displays t he subnet m ask.
This field displays t he I D num ber of t he VLAN group.
This field displays t he I P address of t he default gat eway.
Check t he m anagem ent I P addresses t hat you want t o rem ove in t he D e le t e colum n,
t hen click t he D e le t e but t on.
Click Ca nce l t o clear t he select ed check boxes in t he D e le t e colum n.
