Chapter 8 Basic Setting
DESCRIPTION
Specify t he m axim um num ber of hops ( from 1 t o 255) in rout er advert isem ent s. This is t he
m axim um num ber of hops on which an I Pv6 packet is allowed t o t ransm it before it is
discarded by an I Pv6 rout er, which is sim ilar t o t he TTL field in I Pv4.
Specify t he m axim um num ber of I CMPv6 error m essages ( from 1 t o 200) which are allowed
t o t ransm it in a given t im e int erval. I f t he bucket is full, subsequent error m essages are
suppressed.
Specify t he t im e period ( from 0 t o 2147483647 m illiseconds) during which I CMPv6 error
m essages of up t o t he bucket size can be t ransm it t ed. 0 m eans no lim it .
Click Apply t o save your changes t o t he Swit ch's run- t im e m em ory. The Swit ch loses t hese
changes if it is t urned off or loses power, so use t he Sa ve link on t he t op navigat ion panel t o
save your changes t o t he nonvolat ile m em ory when you are done configuring.
Click Ca n ce l t o begin configuring t his screen afresh.
Click Cle a r t o reset t he fields t o t he fact ory default s.
