Chapter 13 Spanning Tree Protocol
DESCRIPTION
Select t his check box t o add t his port t o t he MST inst ance.
Configure t he priorit y for each port here.
Priorit y decides which port should be disabled when m ore t han one port form s a loop in a
swit ch. Port s wit h a higher priorit y num eric value are disabled first . The allowed range is
bet ween 0 and 255 and t he default value is 128.
Pat h cost is t he cost of t ransm it t ing a fram e on t o a LAN t hrough t hat port . I t is
recom m ended t o assign t his value according t o t he speed of t he bridge. The slower t he
m edia, t he higher t he cost - see
Click Add t o save t his MST inst ance t o t he Swit ch's run- t im e m em ory. The Swit ch loses
t his change if it is t urned off or loses power, so use t he Sa ve link on t he t op navigat ion
panel t o save your changes t o t he non- volat ile m em ory when you are done configuring.
Click Ca n ce l t o begin configuring t his screen afresh.
This field displays t he I D of an MST inst ance.
This field displays t he VI D ( or VI D ranges) t o which t he MST inst ance is m apped.
This field display t he port s configured t o part icipat e in t he MST inst ance.
Select an ent ry's check box t o select a specific ent ry.
Check t he rule( s) t hat you want t o rem ove and t hen click t he D e le t e but t on.
Click Ca n ce l t o clear t he select ed checkbox( es) .
