and capabilit ies. OAM discovery is a handshake prot ocol.

int erface is not operat ional.
Act ive Se nd Loca l: The port is in act ive m ode and is t rying t o see if t he rem ot e device
support s OAM.
Pa ssive W a it : The port is in passive m ode and is wait ing for t he rem ot e device t o begin
OAM discovery.
Se n d Loca l Re m ot e : This st at e occurs in t he following circum st ances.
• The port has discovered t he rem ot e devi c e but has not accept ed or rej ect ed t he
connect ion yet .
• The port has discovered t he rem ot e device and rej e ct ed t he connect ion.
Se n d Loca l Re m ot e OK: The port has discovered t he rem ot e device and has accept ed
t he connect ion. I n addit ion, t he rem ot e device has not accept ed or rej ect ed t he
connect ion yet , or t he rem ot e device has rej ect ed t he connect ed.
Se n d An y: The port and t he rem ot e device have accept ed t he connect ion. This is t he
operat ing st at e for OAM links t hat are fully operat ional.
