Chapter 26 IP Source Guard
DESCRIPTION
Specify t he m axim um rat e ( 1- 2048 packet s per second) at which t he Swit ch
receives ARP packet s from each port . The Swit ch discards any addit ional ARP
packet s. Ent er 0 t o disable t his lim it .
The burst int erval is t he lengt h of t im e over which t he rat e of ARP packet s is
m onit ored for each port . For exam ple, if t he rat e is 15 pps and t he burst int erval is
1 second, t hen t he Swit ch accept s a m axim um of 15 ARP packet s in every one-
second int erval. I f t he burst int erval is 5 seconds, t hen t he Swit ch accept s a
m axim um of 75 ARP packet s in every five- second int erval.
Ent er t he lengt h ( 1- 15 seconds) of t he burst int erval.
Click Apply t o save your changes t o t he Swit ch's run- t im e m em ory. The Swit ch
loses t hese changes if it is t urned off or loses power, so use t he Sa ve link on t he
t op navigat ion panel t o save your changes t o t he non- volat ile m em ory when you
are done configuring.
Click t his t o reset t he values in t his screen t o t heir last- saved values.

This field displays t he VLAN I D of each VLAN in t he range specified above. I f you
configure t he * VLAN, t he set t ings are applied t o all VLANs.
Select Ye s t o enable ARP inspect ion on t he VLAN. Select N o t o disable ARP inspect ion on
t he VLAN.
