18.1.3 MAC Authentication

MAC aut hent icat ion works in a very sim ilar way t o I EEE 802.1x aut hent icat ion. The m ain difference
is t hat t he Swit ch does not prom pt t he client for login credent ials. The login credent ials are based
on t he source MAC address of t he client connect ing t o a port on t he Swit ch along wit h a password
configured specifically for MAC aut hent icat ion on t he Swit ch.
