24.5.1 MVR Group Configuration

All source port s and receiver port s belonging t o a m ult icast group can receive m ult icast dat a sent t o
t his m ult icast group.
Use t his screen t o configure MVR I P m ult icast group address( es) . Click t he Gr ou p Con figu r a t ion
link in t he M VR screen.
Not e: A port can belong t o m ore t han one m ult icast VLAN. However, I P m ult icast group
addresses in different m ult icast VLANs cannot overlap.
Chapter 24 Multicast
DESCRIPTION
Set t ings in t his row apply t o all port s.
Use t his row only if you want t o m ake som e set t ings t he sam e for all port s. Use t his row
first t o set t he com m on set t ings and t hen m ake adj ust m ent s on a port- by- port basis.
Changes in t his row are copied t o all t he port s as soon as you m ake t hem .
Select t his opt ion t o set t his port as t he MVR source port t hat sends and receives
m ult icast t raffic. All source port s m ust belong t o a single m ult icast VLAN.
Select t his opt ion t o set t his port as a receiver port t hat only receives m ult icast t raffic.
Select t his opt ion t o set t he port not t o part icipat e in MVR. No MVR m ult icast t raffic is sent
or received on t his port .
Select t his checkbox if you want t he port t o t ag t he VLAN I D in all out going fram es
t ransm it t ed.
Click t his t o creat e a new ent ry or t o updat e an exist ing one.
This saves your changes t o t he Swit ch's run- t im e m em ory. The Swit ch loses t hese
changes if it is t urned off or loses power, so use t he Sa ve link on t he t op navigat ion panel
t o save your changes t o t he non- volat ile m em ory when you are done configuring.
Click Ca n ce l t o begin configuring t his screen afresh.
This field displays t he m ult icast VLAN I D. Click on an index num ber t o change t he
set t ings.
This field displays whet her t he m ult icast group is enabled or not .
This field displays t he descript ive nam e for t his set t ing.
This field displays t he MVR m ode.
This field displays t he source port num ber( s) .
This field displays t he receiver port num ber( s) .
This field displays t he priorit y level.
Select an ent ry's check box t o select a specific ent ry. Ot herwise, select t he check box in
t he t able heading row t o select all ent ries.
To delet e a m ult icast VLAN( s) , select t he rule( s) t hat you want t o rem ove, t hen click t he
D e le t e but t on.
Click Ca n ce l t o clear t he check boxes.
