Prerequisites
CAUTION:

Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions
that came with the product.
CAUTION:
Ensure that the storage controller card is installed carefully, so that the components on the card are not damaged.

Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions section.

Follow the procedure listed in the Before working inside your system section.
Steps
1
Reconnect the SAS data cables to the card.
NOTE:
Ensure that you connect the cable according to the connector labels on the cable. The cable does not function
properly if reversed.

Hold the card by its edges, and align the card edge connector with the connector on the system board.

Lower the card into the system until the card is firmly seated.
4
Route the SAS data cable through the channel on the inner side of the chassis.
5
Connect the SAS cables from the storage controller card to the connectors on hard drive backplane or SAS expander card based on
the hard drive configuration selected. For more information about cabling images, see the Removing the hard drive backplane section.
6
Close the clamp.
