Installing the fan tray

Prerequisites
CAUTION:
Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only perform troubleshooting and simple
repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and support team.
Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions
that came with the product.

Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions section.

Follow the procedure listed in the Before working inside your system section.
Steps
1
Align the captive screws on the fan tray with the screw holes on the system board while lowering the fan tray into the system.
NOTE:
Ensure that the tabs on the fan tray are seated in the slots on the memory riser guide.
Ensure that the connector on the fan tray engages with the connector on the system board.

Press the fan tray at the edges to ensure that the fan tray is properly seated.
3
Tighten the captive screws in the order of the numbers printed on the fan tray.
