About This Guide

This installation guide contains the information needed to install and get started
with the CrossFire
will be referred to as the "CrossFire 8720 Switch".
The guide is intended to be used by network administrators or knowledgeable
users, therefore it assumes a basic knowledge of Local Area Networks and IP
routing principles.
In addition to this installation guide, the CrossFire 8720 Switch is delivered with
the on-line CrossFire 8720 Fast Ethernet Layer 3 Switch Reference Guide
enclosed as a PDF file on a CD-ROM. The CD-ROM also contains an on-line
version of this installation guide. When you need information outside the scope of
the installation guide, please refer to the reference guide.
