    Warning: Do not work on the system or connect or disconnect cables during periods of lightning activity. Read the installation instructions before you connect the system to its power source. To turn power off on the CrossFire 8720 Switch, you must disconnect the power cord; there is no on/off switch.

    Make sure the front and back panels of the switch are accessible so that you can monitor the LED indicators and access the control switches.     Quick Reference Guide supplied with the UEM. 2.2.5 Mounting Hints The CrossFire 8720 Switch can be mounted in a standard 19-inch rack or cabinet, or can be mounted on any flat surface such as a tabletop. The installation area should be near a power source and should have enough room around the front and back panels for cabling and access to controls.

    Close the cap again to conceal the screws. Table-top Mounting The CrossFire 8720 Switch operates at a low noise level, which makes it suitable for a work area or almost anywhere with a large enough flat surface such as a table, desktop, or similar area.

    There are no user serviceable parts inside the CrossFire 8720 Switch. Internal upgrades or service should be performed by qualified personnel only. Warning: The CrossFire 8720 Switch does not have an on/off switch. Power is on when the unit is plugged into a power source. Unplug the power cord before you work on a system that does not have an on/off switch.

    The RMON interface - used to monitor and analyze the switch operation with a standard RMON SNMP application.
