3.7 Selecting a Command Set
You can decide which command set to use. By default you use the basic set,
covering the most common administrative tasks. To access all the parameters use
the Advanced command.
3.8 Entering Parameters
There are two types of parameters you can set:
•
Editable parameters – numerical values or strings you enter and edit character
by character.
•
Selectable parameters – where you have a choice from a predefined list (this
list may contain numerical values, strings or a mix of both).
When entering or selecting a parameter, you may remember what the current
parameter value is and change it immediately, or you may choose to recall the
current value and then make a decision: change it or not. In the latter case, you can
display a related parameter or parameter group by using a show command or ?
character. Type your input into the editable field. Entering the ? character in the
editable field causes the current parameter value to be fetched into the field, giving
you the possibility to either change it or accept the setting. Selecting the ?
character on the action line while a selectable parameter list is being displayed
causes the currently selected parameter value to be underlined. You can then leave
this setting or select some other parameter on the list with arrow keys.
3.9 Error Information
When you make an error entering a parameter, the hint/error line shows the error
message, which you should acknowledge by pressing Enter before proceeding any
further. Then you may correct the attempted invalid parameter setting.
3.10 Getting Help
The menu screens, in parallel to displaying all available choices and actions on a
given level, list the descriptive information to help making a correct choice. No
further help is available.
