Section 9: Troubleshooting
The background doesn't lower.
When troubles are not solved even after titration cell dehydration, run the following. (Refer to 5-2.
Titration cell dehydration).
Expected trouble causes
1. D/T connection mistake
2. Cable removal and
looseness
Detection electrode
1. Electrode contamination
2. Electrode breakage
Cathode solution cell
1. A cell isn't dried
fully after washing.
2. Cell contamination
3. Cell breakage
4. Wire netting deformation
5. Ceramic contamination
6. Ceramic breakage
Generator solution cell
1. A cell isn't dried
fully after washing.
2. Cell contamination
3. Cell breakage
4. Some plugs and electrodes
are not set to a cell.
5. A sample injection plug
rubber packing is not
changed.
6. A sample injection plug
rubber packing is not set
correctly.
Countermeasures
Check connection and connect it again.
(Refer to Illustration 2-2. Connection of a stirrer to the
unit.)
After removing a cable, connect it again.
Wash it. (Refer to 8-2-2. Washing.)
Change the broken one.
(Electrodes are consumables.)
Hydrofluoric acid sample causes glass corrosion.
Wash it again with methanol and ethanol and use after
drying fully.
Wash it. (Refer to 8-2-2. Washing.)
Change the broken one.
2 to 3mm space is required between a ceramic and
wire netting. Adjust the netting with a tweezers.
Wash it. (Refer to 8-2-2. Washing.)
When anode solution mixes in cathode solution,
potential is not down.
Change the broken one.
Wash it again with methanol and ethanol and use after
drying fully.
Wash it. (Refer to 8-2-2. Washing.)
Change the broken one.
Assembly a cell correctly.
Change a rubber packing.
(Refer to 8-2-1. Maintenance.)
After removing a rubber packing, set it again.
