Series-Thru calibration connections
Calibrating Thru:
Calibrating Open/Short/Load:
OMICRON Lab
Short calibration.
Note that the inductance of the short connection
is assumed to be zero. Short Delay Time is 0 s by
default. This means that inductance of the short
connection will be subtracted from the
measurement result. This might be important to
consider when you try measuring several nH of
parasitic inductance.
Load calibration.
Default Load Resistor value is 50 Ω.
Thru calibration can e.g. remove the gain and
phase error introduced by the connection cables.
Open calibration.
Note that the capacitance of the Open is
assumed to be zero. If you try to measure very
low capacitance, the parasitic capacitance of the
Open can introduce an error. Try keeping it as
small as possible.
Short calibration.
Note that the inductance of the short connection
is assumed to be zero. Short Delay Time is 0 s by
default.
