Input Source selection and configuration is described above in sections 5.2.6, 5.2.7,
and 5.2.8. Similarly, Output Routing and configuration are described in sections
5.2.9, and 5.2.10.
5.3.1. UPMAX II Upmixing
When configured with a 5.1+2+2 instance, UPMAX II 2-channel to 5.1-channel
upmixing is available for both the main program (Program 1) and the Local Input
(Inputs 9/10) independently.
To configure the upmix settings for Program 1, navigate to:
Instance 1 > UPMAX II Program 1 > Main Settings
Ensure that Power is enabled, and that Upmix Enable is active.
If a mix of multichannel and 2-channel input streams is expected and a constant
multichannel output is desired, enable Auto Mode.
To adjust the upmixer parameters, navigate to:
Instance 1 > UPMAX II Program 1 > Adjust
To adjust the transition times from discrete multichannel to upmixed, and upmixed
audio to discrete multichannel, navigate to:
Instance 1 > UPMAX II Program 1 > Transitions
To adjust the Auto Mode settings, navigate to:
Instance 1 > UPMAX II Program 1 > Auto Mode Settings
The UPMAX II processor for the Local Input includes the same upmix engine and
controls, but does not include the Auto Mode (or any related controls) because the
input source is always constrained to be a 2-channel source.
