Performing Software Maintenance Upgrades
A software maintenance upgrade (SMU) is a package file that contains fixes for specific defects. SMUs are
created to respond to immediate issues and do not include new features.
This module describes how to perform software maintenance upgrades (SMUs) on Cisco Nexus 5600 Series
devices.

Prerequisites for SMUs

These prerequisites must be met for a package to be activated or deactivated:
• You must be in a user group associated with a task group that includes the proper task IDs. If you suspect

Guidelines and Limitations for SMUs

SMUs have the following guidelines and limitations:
