To fax a document from the scanner glass:
NOTE: Make sure that no document is in the ADF. If any document is detected in the ADF, it
has priority over the document on the scanner glass.
NOTE: To get the best scan quality, especially for colored or gray scaled images, use the scanner
glass instead of the ADF.
Open the document cover.

Place the document face down on the scanner glass and align it with the registration

guide on the top left corner of the glass.
For detailed guidelines for preparing an original document, see page 84.
Adjust the document resolution, referring to page 120.

Close the document cover.

NOTE: If you are copying a page from a book or magazine, lift the cover until its hinges
are caught by the stopper and then close the cover. If the book or magazine is thicker than
30 mm, start copying with the cover open.
