SHAFT DRIVE
Therefore, the ring gear shim thickness is
0.55 mm. Shim sizes are supplied in the fol-
lowing thickness.
Thickness (mm)
Since ring gear shims can only be selected in
0.10 mm increments, round off the hundredths
digit and select the appropriate shim(s).

0, 1, 2, 3, 4
5, 6, 7, 8, 9

2. Install:
S Shims (proper size as calculated)
S Final drive shaft assembly
S Bearing retainer (final drive shaft)
Use a bearing retainer wrench.
CAUTION:
The final drive shaft bearing retainer has
left-hand threads. Turn the retainer counter-
clockwise to tighten it.
Bearing retainer wrench:
90890-04050
3. Adjust:
S Gear backlash
Refer to "FINAL GEAR BACKLASH MEA-
SUREMENT" and "FINAL GEAR BACK-
LASH ADJUSTMENT".
4. Measure/select:
S Ring gear thrust washer clearance
