VALVE CLEARANCE ADJUSTMENT

D Measure the valve clearance using a thick-
ness gauge 1 .

11. Adjust:
S Valve clearance

Adjustment steps:
D Loosen the locknut 1 .
D Insert a thickness gauge between the adjust-
er end and the valve end.
D Turn the adjuster 2 in or out until the speci-
fied clearance is obtained.

decreased.

Turning out:
increased.
D Hold the adjuster to prevent it from moving
and tighten the locknut.
Locknut:
14 Nm (1.4 mSkg)
D Measure the valve clearance again.
D If the clearance is still incorrect, repeat all the
clearance adjustment steps until the speci-
fied clearance is obtained.

S All removed parts

Install all removed parts in the reverse order of
their disassembly. Note the following points.
