Configuring a super VLAN
Step

Enter system view.

Configure a VLAN interface for the super VLAN
When you a VLAN interface for the super VLAN, follow these guidelines:
Configure the IP address of the VLAN interface with that of the corresponding super VLAN.
You can enable the local proxy ARP or ND function for the VLAN interface. For more information
about local proxy ARP and proxy ND functions, see Layer 3—IP Services Configuration Guide. For
more information about local-proxy-arp enable and local-proxy-nd enable commands, see Layer
3—IP Services Command Reference.
You cannot configure a super VLAN as the guest VLAN for a port, and vice versa. For more
information about guest VLANs, see Security Configuration Guide.
You can configure Layer 2 multicast for a super VLAN, but the configuration is ineffective.
You can configure DHCP, Layer 3 multicast, and dynamic routing for the VLAN interface of a super
VLAN. However, only DHCP takes effect.
H3C does not recommend configuring VRRP for the VLAN interface of a super VLAN, because it
affects network performance. For more information about VRRP, see High Availability Configuration
Guide.
To configure a VLAN interface for the super VLAN:

Create a VLAN
interface, and enter
VLAN interface view.
3.
Configure the IP address
of the VLAN interface.
4.
Enable local proxy ARP.
5.
Enable local proxy ND.
