Removing the chain sliders

•
Remove the start-up crown.
•
Undo and remove the two screws.
•
Remove the rear chain slider.

Checking the chain tensioner

•
Check that there are no blowholes or
damage; replace the component if re-
quired.
•
Check the correct operation of the one-
way chamber: if the movement is not
smooth, replace the timing chain ten-
sioner housing.
•
Check that the timing chain tensioner
threaded cap, the copper washer, the
spring, the one-way cam, the gasket,
the timing chain tensioner rod are not
damaged or worn; replace the defec-
tive parts if required.
