Measure the pin outside diameter (a)
and if not complying with specifica-
tions, replace the pin.
Pin outside diameter: 22.991 - 23.000 mm
(0.9052 - 0.9055 in) Limit: 22.971 mm (0.9044 in)

Measure the pin inside diameter (b)
and replace the pin if not complying
with specifications.
Pin inside diameter: 23.004 - 23.015 mm (0.9057
- 0.9061 in) Limit: 23.045 mm (0.9073 in)
•
Calculate the clearance between pin
and pin hole and, if not complying with
specifications, replace both pin and
piston.
Pin - piston clearance: C = b - a
0.004 - 0.024 mm (0.0002 - 0.0009 in) Limit:
0.074 mm (0.0029 in)

Fitting the piston

CAUTION
WHEN FITTING THE PISTON RINGS, MAKE SURE THAT THEY ARE REFITTED WITH THE MAN-
UFACTURER REFERENCES OR MARKING FACING UPWARDS.

Fit the top ring, the intermediate ring,
the oil scraper ring expander, the lower
oil scraper ring element and the upper
oil scraper ring element.
