Transferring the Balance to a New Gift Card

There was a balance remaining on the deactivated Gift Card.
Note: If you transfer the balance, the new gift card MUST be one that can be activated for a
variable amount (i.e., NOT a fixed value card).

Selecting the Balance Due Payment Method

The BALANCE DUE prompt appears in four transactions:

c. The terminal prints an Activation Summary report if you performed an Activate/Load
transaction. Retain this report.
Note: The Purchase transaction will use the Balance Due amount as the Purchase amount. It
will not prompt for the transaction amount and the Tip amount (even if Tip Entry is enabled).
To transfer the remaining balance to a new gift card:
a. press F1 to select YES.

A Loyalty card redemption in which the amount to be redeemed is greater than the
amount on the card.
To use a debit card or credit card, press F1 (CR/DB).
To use another (already activated) gift card, press F2 (GIFT).
To pay with cash, press F3 (CASH).
If you selected DB/CR, the terminal automatically begins a debit or credit Purchase
transaction at the SWIPE OR INSERT CARD
If you selected GIFT, the terminal automatically begins a gift card Purchase
transaction at the SWIPE OR ENTER CARD
If you selected CASH, the activation transaction is completed.
