Chapter 4
Connection
As illustrated below, connect the inverters in parallel to the external control system, and connect the RP and SN
terminals with a jumper on the inverter at the end of the network. (Similarly jumper the RP and SN terminals
when only one inverter is connected to the external control system for RS485 communication.) Connecting the RP
and SN terminals enables the terminating resistor in the control circuit terminal block board of the inverter, which
suppresses signal reflections.
Use shielded and twisted pair cable and the cable's shield is connected to signal ground (SG) on the external
control system and CM1 on the inverter is recommended.

note) Signal ground (SG) on the external control system should connect to CM1 on the inverter.
note) There are cases when the communication performance is enhanced that the cable's shield connects to G
(ground) on the inverter not to CM1. Change the connection depending on the communication performance.
If the ground (G) is connected, note below.
- Do not short between signal ground (SG) and CM1.
-The cable's shield connects only to G (ground).
note) The cable's shield is connected to signal ground (SG) on the external control system and CM1 on the inverter is
recommended.
note) The commnication line separates with a power line, do not lay them parallel.
note) When the twisted pair cable is installed, all signal line should be connected, Example below.
