Diagram 9: Test Spark Electrode.
a.) Set meter to Continuity.
b.) Disconnect Spark Electrode from Receiver.
c.) Place (+) Positive probe on spark end of electrode.
d.) Place (-) Negative probe in socket end of electrode.
e.) Meter should show a complete circuit.
f.) If no continuity or infinite resistance replace spark electrode.
Diagram 10: Test Thermocouple output.
a.) Set meter to mV DC in lowest range available.
b.) Turn on pilot (For manual operation see Diagram 5)
c.) Place (+) Positive probe on the RED spade connector at the Interrupter block.
d.) Place (-) Negative probe to ground (Valve body, ground lug or bare metal of chassis)
e.) Meter should read 10 – 15 mV DC within 30 seconds of the pilot being lit.
f.) If output is low Verify Meter probe is making good contact with spade connector and Verify pilot flame is making
complete contact with the thermocouple. Otherwise, replace thermocouple.
