2.5.4.4 Adjusting back focus

Click the [Setup>>] button of "Back focus" on the [Image quality] tab of the "Image/Audio" page. (®page 95)

Back focus setting

Adjust the back focus by moving the CMOS image sensor of the camera to the appropriate position.
[Focus]
The back focus can be adjusted manually.
[Near]: Click this button to adjust the focus to the "Near" side.
[Reset]: Click this button to reset the focus to the default.
[Far]: Click this button to adjust the focus to the "Far" side.
[Auto focus area setting]
When performing back focus, you can use this frame to specify the subject on the screen for which the focus
should be adjusted. Unless specified otherwise, adjusts the focus to the subject in the central area of the
screen.
[Display]: Displays the back focus frame in the settings screen. In the default settings, the back focus
frame is displayed in the central area of the screen. Drag the mouse on the image, and specify the area
where the focus should be adjusted. Once the setting is complete, click the [Register] button.
When the [Display] button is clicked, the [Reset] and [Register] buttons are displayed.
[Reset]: Resets the frame setting to its default. To register, click the [Register] button.
[Register]: Saves the set frame. Click to automatically adjust the focus on the subject in the specified area.
[Auto back focus]
The auto back focus function starts to automatically adjust back focus based on a subject located in the center
of the screen by clicking the [Execute] button.
