PRO ACTIV offers person and wheelchair
restraint systems (so-called transport restraint
systems) with new orders, but also for retrofit-
ting. In the following, we shall inform you about
the use and application of this retention system
when using the product as a seat in a motor
vehicle.
28.2 Wheelchair tiedown and occu-
pant-restraint systems
With the wheelchair restraint system, elements
are designated that are used to secure the
wheelchair in the vehicle. Persons are secured
using components of the person retention sys-
tem. A comprehensive system for the optimum
transportation of the wheelchair in the motor
vehicle comprises both components. These
are matched to one-another so that their forces
are not transferred to another system.
Elements of the wheelchair restraint system
include:
Transport restraint connection on the rear
frame: The frame inlet can be used for in-
stalling the mount for the hip belt as well as
for fixing the buckle that joins the rear re-
tractor with the vehicle.
