Administrative requirements
The conditions under which the deskphones need to operate are summarized as follows:
• IP Address management.
• Tagging Control and VLAN administration.
• Quality of Service (QoS) administration.
• Protocol administration, for example, Simple Network Management Control (SNMP) and Link
Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP), as applicable.
• Administering the deskphone to LAN interface using the PHY1 parameter.
• Administering the deskphone to PC interface using the PHY2 parameter.
• Application-specific deskphone administration using a text settings file with various deskphone
specific parameters. The file resides on an HTTP or HTTPS server and the deskphone
retrieves the file when powered on.
• Maintaining the information on the call server.
• Manually entering the information by means of the deskphone dialpad using CRAFT
procedures.
• Administering the DHCP server.
• Editing the configuration file on the applicable HTTP or HTTPS file server.
