6.3.11 Additional options

The product may be equipped with additional options.
The options are firmly mounted to the product by qualified personnel or the manufacturer and are pre-adjusted by
qualified personnel at delivery.

6.4 Disassembly/Transportation

► Never place heavy items on the folded wheelchair.
The wheelchair can be prepared for transportation in a passenger vehicle:
1) Remove the footrests (see Page 25).
2) For rear wheels with quick-release axle: remove the rear wheels (see Page 28).

6.5 Use in a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle

6.5.1 General Safety Instructions

WARNING
Use as a seat in a wheelchair accessible vehicle
Severe injury in case of accidents
► Always use the seats and restraints in the wheelchair accessible vehicle first. This is the only way to provide
optimal protection for the occupants in case of accident.
► If the wheelchair is to be used as a seat in a wheelchair accessible vehicle, the safety elements offered by the
manufacturer and appropriate restraint systems must be used. For more information, please refer to the
instructions for use "Using your Wheelchair/Seating Shell Mobility Base or Buggy as a Seat for Transporta­
tion in a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle", order number 646D158.
WARNING
Unallowable use of optional parts in a wheelchair accessible vehicle
Severe injury in case of accidents
► Set the back angle vertically to 90° when transporting in a wheelchair accessible vehicle. Secure the angle-
adjustable back with tension strap with the securing clamps (see Page 19).
► Fully lower the elevating footrests when transporting in a wheelchair accessible vehicle (see Page 28).
► Remove the tray from the product when transporting in a wheelchair accessible vehicle (see Page 32).

6.5.2 Required Options

Lashing points and a belt set are required to secure the wheelchair for use as a seat in a wheelchair accessible
vehicle:
The lashing points (see Fig. 71, item 1: front; see Fig. 72, item 1: rear) are mounted upon request, either by the
manufacturer or by the qualified personnel that adapted the product (see rear inside cover or rear cover for
addresses).
The belt set can be obtained from a third-party manufacturer. For more information on suppliers, please refer to
our brochure "Using your Wheelchair/Seating Shell Mobility Base or Buggy for Transportation in a Wheelchair
Accessible Vehicle", order number 646D158.
The transport weight of the person being transported is limited to max. 100 kg (weight with seating shell).
