6.3.1.3 Adjusting the Back Angle

CAUTION
Change in centre of gravity following back angle adjustment
The user may fall out
► After each modification of the back angle, check the tilt stability. To do so, hold the product with both hands
by the push handle.
The backrest can be adjusted as needed by using the following options:
Angle-adjustable back with tension strap
1) If necessary: remove the securing clamps on both sides (see Fig. 19).
2) Pull on the backrest release strap (see Fig. 20).
3) Fold the backrest backwards or forwards (see Fig. 21) to one of the four possible positions (see Fig. 20).
4) Let go of the release strap.
INFORMATION: Each lock-release pin must audibly click into place in one of the four holes.
5) Make sure the backrest is secure by giving it a few short tugs.
6) Visually check that the lock-release pins are in the same angle position on both sides.
7) Only necessary when using in a wheelchair accessible vehicle: insert the securing clamps into the holes
on both sides (see Fig. 22).
WARNING! Always set the back angle vertically to 90° when transporting in a wheelchair accessible
vehicle.

Angle-adjustable back with pin
1) Press the pin on both back tubes (see Fig. 23, item 1) and pull them out (see Fig. 23, item 2).
2) Swivel the back tubes forwards or backwards or fold them down completely (see Fig. 23, item 3).
3) Re-insert the pin into both back tubes:
→ Press the pin in (see Fig. 24, item 1).
→ Slide the pin in all the way to the stop (see Fig. 24, item 2).
→ Release the pin.
4) Visually check the pins inserted into each side:
