User Security
The User Security menu controls the password
needed to access the Observer 4100 menus.
PASSWORD ENABLE: Select ON to require a
password to access the Observer 4100's menus;
select OFF to disable this feature and allow free
access.
SELECT USER: Select a user level to set a
password for:
- ADMINISTRATOR: has full access rights,
including ability to change passwords, format
storage media, and export or delete the system
log
- POWER USER: same as ADMINISTRATOR rights,
but cannot change passwords, format storage
media, or export or delete the system log
- USER: may only view video and video logs
(cannot access configuration menus)
PASSWORD: Enter an eight-digit password with the
number keys on the remote control for the selected
user level.
CONFIRM: Enter the same eight-digit password
as you did in the above field to confirm it is the
password you want to set. If the password is
different, an error message appears.
When ON is selected in the PASSWORD ENABLE
field, the User Login screen appears when
attempting to enter the Observer 4100 menus.
Enter "0" in the ID field, then enter the assigned
password.
