Checking The Valve Clearance - MOTO GUZZI stelvio 1200 NTX MY11 Service Manual

Maintenance
•
Undo and remove the six screws.
•
Lift the filter housing cover.
•
Remove the air filter.
•
Cover the inlet duct with a clean cloth so that no foreign bodies get into the inlet ducts.
DO NOT START THE ENGINE WITHOUT THE AIR FILTER.
TO CLEAN THE FILTERING ELEMENT, USE A PRESSURE AIR JET FROM THE INSIDE TO THE
OUTSIDE.

Checking the valve clearance

If the timing system is very noisy, check the clearance between the valves and the rocking levers.
NOTE
ADJUST WITH COLD ENGINE, WITH PISTON AT TOP DEAD CENTRE (TDC) IN COMPRESSION
STROKE (VALVES CLOSED).

Scollegare la pipetta candela facendo
leva mediante un cacciavite attraverso
la feritoia.
CAUTION
PRESTARE ATTENZIONE A FARE LEVA SULLA GOMMA
DELLA PIPETTA CANDELA E NON SULLA CANDELA
STESSA ONDE EVITARE DI DANNEGGIARLA
