Engine
The connecting rods have a marked area for
weight selection.
The weight indicated in the chart includes screws,
dowels and the bushing.

Assembling the connecting rod
•
Lubricate the crankpin on which the
connecting rods are to be fixed.
•
If the connecting rods are not replaced,
be careful not to interchange the right
connecting rod with the left one and
vice versa.
To place the connecting rods: the two pins must
be facing the crankcase internal side.
•
Place the connecting rods and the
caps (B) on the crankshaft and fasten
them with new screws (A).
•
Remember these recommendations:
•
The screws fixing the connecting rods to the crankshaft must be replaced with new ones at
the following refitting as they are subject to high loads and stress;
•
The fitting clearance between bearing and connecting rod pin is 0.028 mm (0.0011 inch)
minimum and 0.052 mm (0.0020 inch) maximum;
•
The clearance between the shim washers of the connecting rod and those of the crankshaft
is comprised between 0.30 mm (0.01181 in) and 0.50 mm (0.01968 in);
•
Lock the screws (A) on the caps (B) with a torque wrench at the prescribed torque.
