CYLINDER HEAD, CYLINDER AND PISTON

ENGINE TOP SIDE DISASSEMBLY

CYLINDER HEAD COVER REMOVAL

• Remove the seat. (!5-2)
• Remove the radiator covers and fuel tank. (!5-2)
• Disconnect the spark plug cap and remove the spark plug.
(!2-7)
• Remove the TO sensor bracket bolt and nut.
• Remove the cylinder head cover 1 and its gasket.
CAMSHAFTS (AUTOMATIC DECOMP.) AND
CAM CHAIN TENSION ADJUSTER REMOVAL
• Remove the cylinder head cover. (!above)
• Drain engine oil. (!2-11)
• Remove the TDC plug 1 and crankshaft hole plug 2.
• Place a wrench over the crankshaft and turn it counter clock-
wise to align the TDC mark A with the center of the groove B
of the timing inspection hole.
NOTE:
The piston must be at TDC on the compression stroke.
