9-3 GEARSHIFTING

GEARSHIFT LINKAGE

REMOVAL

• Drain engine oil. (!2-11)
• Drain engine coolant. (!14-3)
• Remove the gearshift lever 1.
NOTE:
Mark the gearshift shaft head at which the gearshift lever slit set
for correct reinstallation.
• Remove the right crankcase cover and clutch component
parts. (!7-8, 8-3)
• Remove the gearshift shaft assembly 2 and washer 3.
• Remove the washer 3, snap ring 4 and return spring 5 from
the gearshift shaft 2.
" 09900-06107: Snap ring pliers
• Remove the gearshift pawl lifter 6.
• Remove the gearshift cam driven gear 7.
NOTE:
Be careful not to drop the pins and springs when removing the
gearshift cam driven gear.
