DRIVE CHAIN ADJUSTMENT

• Loosen the axle nut 1.
• Loosen the lock-nuts 2 and adjust the drive chain slack to the
specification by turning the adjusters 3. Make sure that the
right and left adjuster washers 4 are at the same position on
scales 5.
• With the adjusters 3 held in position, tighten the lock-nuts 2.
• Push the adjuster washers 4 to the adjusters 3 and tighten
the axle nut 1.
! Axle nut: 100 N·m (10.0 kgf-m, 72.5 lb-ft)
• Tighten the lock-nut 2.

DRIVE CHAIN PLATE WEAR

• Measure the heights of the inner A and outer B plates using
the vernier calipers.
• If any of the measurements exceeds the service limit, replace
the drive chain with a new one.
" Chain plate height:
Service Limit: (Inner A) : 12.75 mm (0.502 in)
# 09900-20101: Vernier calipers
• Visually check the drive chain for the possible defects listed
below.
* Loose pins
* Damaged rollers
* Dry or rusted links
If any defect is found, the drive chain must be replaced.
NOTE:
When replacing the drive chain, replace the drive chain and
sprockets as a set.
(Outer B): 11.20 mm (0.441 in)
* Excessive wear
* Missing O-ring seals
* Kinked or binding links
