6.2.3 system settings

This submenu allows you to set various system parameters for comfortable usage of the receiver.
Start up channel:

Use pq to select a channel from the channel list and press oK to confirm. The name of this channel will
be shown as menu choice.

If the receiver is connected to a TV with 16:9 aspect ratio, the most
recommended mode is PillarBox. In this mode, the video 4:3 will be shown
without geometric transformations (displays full screen high and on the left
and right sides of the screen presents black vertical bars). 16:9 video format
will be displayed without transformation and will occupy the entire screen.
Other options available for conversion of 4:3 video format for 16:9 TV:
Widescreen – occupy the entire screen with video geometric transformation,
Combined – cut little bit upper and lower parts of video and displays tiny
black vertical bars on left and right sides.
Use tu to select screen resolution according to the characteristics and
supported modes of your TV set.
You should confirm the HDMI resolution selection. If you select a resolution
your TV set does not support, you will see a black screen. Do not confirm.
Please wait 10 seconds, the receiver will switch back to the previous
resolution value.
Experiment with the settings to find the options that suit you best. You can
change the parameters in viewing mode by pressing opT.
Do not forget about the possibility to control the screen format from the
menu of your TV also (depends on your TV model).
Use tu to adjust this setting in accordance to the connected audio
equipment. Set the BitStream option to bypass original audio bitstream
through HDMI or S/PDIF to a connected audio equipment that can decode
complex digital audio formats. Set the PCM option to convert complex digital
audio formats supported by the receiver to stereo audio and pass it to the
HDMI or S/PDIF outputs.
Use tu to adjust this setting in accordance to your preference on which
channel the receiver should start after standby mode. Set the Last Watched
option for start-up with the channel that was last watched before switching
the receiver off. Set the Fixed channel option to always start-up the receiver
with a defined channel. To define a channel select this option and press oK.
You should confirm to start channel definition.
