LANDING GEAR SYSTEM
The landing gear is of the tricycle type with a steerable nose wheel. two
main wheels, and wheel fairings. Shock absorption is provided by the
tubular spring-steel main landing gear struts and the air/oil nose gear
shock strut. Each main gear wheel is equipped with a hydraulically
actuated single-disc brake on the inboard side of each wheel, and an
aerodynamic fairing over each brake.
BAGGAGE COMPARTMENT
The baggage compartment consists of the area from the back of the
rear passenger seats to the aft cabin bulkhead. Mounted to the aft cabin
bulkhead, and extending aft of it, is a hatshelf. Access to the baggage
compartment and the hatshelf is gained through a lockable baggage door
on the left side of the airplane, or from within the airplane cabin. A baggage
net with six tie-down straps is provided for securing baggage and is
attached by tying the straps to tie-down rings provided in the airplane. A
cargo tie-down kit may also be installed. For further information on
baggage and cargo tie-down, refer to Section 6. When loading the airplane,
children should not be placed or permitted in the baggage compartment,
and any material that might be hazardous to the airplane or occupants
should not be placed anywhere in the airplane. For baggage area and door
dimensions, refer to Section 6.
SEATS
The seating arrangement consists of two individually adjustable four-
way or six-way seats for the pilot and front seat passenger, and a split-
backed fixed seat for the rear seat passengers. A child' s seat
(if
installed) is
located at the aft cabin bulkhead behind the rear seat.
The four-way seats may be moved forward or aft. and the seat back
angle is infinitely adjustable. To position the seat, lift the tubular handle
below the center of the seat frame, slide the seat into position, release the
handle,. and check that the seat is locked in place. The seat back is
controlled by a cylinder lock release button which is spring-loaded to the
locked position. The release button is located on the right side, below the
forward corner of the seat cushion. To adjust the angle of the seat back,
push up on the release button, position the seat back to the desired angle
and release the button. When the seat is not occupIed, the seat back will
automatically fold forward whenever the release button is pushed up.
