CHANNEL WINDOW - Displays selected channel.

- Indicates relative radiated power of the power
amplifier / antenna system.

MODE SELECTOR CONTROL - Selects one of the desired operating modes:
USB
- Selects upper sideband operation for long range voice communica-
tions.
AM
- Selects compatible AM operation and full AM reception.
TE L
- Selects upper side band with reduced carrier, used for public corres-
pondence telephone and ship-to-shore.
LSB
- (Optional) Selects lower sideband operation (not legal in U.S.,
Canada and most other countries).

SQUELCH COXTROL - Used to adjust signal threshold necessary to activate
receiver audio. Clockwise rotation increases background noise (decreases
squelch action): counterclockwise rotation decreases background noise.

CL';'RIFIER CONTROL - Used to "clarify" single sideband speech during
rec·E:·'E ';J<!J.lle in USB mode only.
