User Accounts

The unit can protect configuration procedures by limiting access via usernames and passwords. By
default, no usernames and passwords are configured for any account type.
�ccount Types

The a�ailable account types for which users and passwords can
be assigned pri�ileges are:
•� Admin FTP
�ssigning username and password requirements
for the �dmin FT� function will limit access to the
unit �ia an FT� connection.
•� Video FTP
�ssigning username and password requirements
for the �ideo FT� function will limit access to
the �ideo FT� archi�ing feature (used with D�'s
Net�u Obser�er).
• Telnet
�ssigning username and password requirements
for Telnet connections will limit Telnet
access to the unit (Telnet can be used to upgrade
the unit).
•� Serial
�ssigning username and password requirements
for Serial connections will limit access �ia a
Serial link.
