6.4.1 Valve projection – Measurement
Preconditions
☑Engine is stopped and starting disabled.
Special tools, Material, Spare parts
Designation / Use
Sliding depth gauge, 200 mm
Preparatory steps
1. Remove spark plugs (→ Page 155).
2. Remove cylinder head covers (→ Page 169).
3. Remove sleeves (arrow).
4. Install barring device (→ Page 150).
5. Rotate crankshaft with barring device in en-
gine direction of rotation until marking
"OT" and pointer are aligned.
