Routine maintenance operations
RS 50
This section describes the routine maintenance
procedures for the main components of the motor-
cycle.
CAUTION
Before starting any maintenance or inspection job
on the motorcycle, stop the engine and remove
the key, and wait until the engine and exhaust
system have cooled down. Place the motorcycle
on a workstand, which is solidly attached to the
floor. Raise the motorcycle up to the point where it
may conveniently be worked on.
Use extreme caution when working around parts
of the engine and exhaust, or brakes, which may
remain hot for a long time.
Avoid the temptation to hold any part of the mo-
torcycle in your mouth. Coatings and plainings
are used on many of the parts used in this motor-
cycle, which are poisonous.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, reassemble
the motorcycle in the reverse order from the
disassembly steps given in this manual.
