TheEasyCoderPF4icomeswitheitherashortsidedoor,which
onlycoverstheprintmechanismorwithoneoftwotypesoflong
sidedoors,whichenclosetheentiremediacompartment.The
standardlongsidedoorhasaflattopandaslotforexternal
mediasupply.The8-inchMegatopversionhasahinged
transparentcanopythatenclosesamediarollwithadiameterof
upto213mm(8.38inches).Thelongsidedoorisgenerally
illustratedthroughoutthismanual,butpicturesoftheshortside
doorcanbefoundatthestartofthischapterandinChapter3,
"MediaLoad"onpage17.
Thepapercutterisavailablebothasafactory-installedoption
andasaoperator-installablekit.Theoptionalpapercutteris
designedtocutoffcontinuousfeedpaper-basedstockorliner
betweenlabels.Maximumthicknessfornormalpaper-based
materialsis175μm(˜175grams/m2).Thecut-offtags,tickets,
orlabelscanbecollectedinanoptionaltray.
Thepapercutterincreasestheprinter'stotalweightby
approximately1.0kg(2.2pounds)anditslengthby28mm(1.1
inches).
Thepapercutterisintendedtocutthroughcontinuousnon-
adhesivepaper-basedmediaorthroughthelinerbetweenlabels.
Itmustnotcutthroughanyadhesive,whichwouldsticktothe
cuttingpartsandrapidlyrenderthecutterinoperableand
possiblyalsocausedamagetotheelectricmotor.Ifyoucut
throughadhesive,youmayhavetocleanthecuttingparts.Tilt
thecutterunitdownandwipeitusingapieceoftissuemoistened
withisopropylalcohol.

Thecuttingedgewillrotatewhenthepowerisswitchedon
andwhentheprinterisre-booted.Alwayskeepthecutterin
closedpositionduringoperation.Switchoffthepoweror
disconnectthecutterbeforecleaning.Keepyourfingersaway
fromcuttingedges!
