Theprintheadissubjecttowearbothfromthedirectthermal
mediaortransferribbonandfromtherapidheatingandcooling
processduringprinting.Thismeansthattheprintheadwill
requireperiodicreplacement.
Timebetweenprintheadreplacementsdependsontheprint
images,thetypeofdirectthermalmediaorribboninuse,the
amountofenergytotheprinthead,theprintspeed,theambient
temperature,andseveralotherfactors.
Whilereplacingtheprinthead,thepowermustbeoff.The
firmwarewillnotdetectthenewprintheadresistanceand
densityuntiltheprinterhasbeenrestarted.
