To clear a media jam
1Alwaysswitchoffthepowerbeforestartingtoclearthe
jammedmedia.
2Raisetheprintheadandpulloutthemedia.
3Ifthemediahasbeenwounduponorhasstucktotheplaten
roller,carefullyremoveitbyhandwithoutusinganysharp
toolsthatcandamagethedelicateplatenrollerorprinthead.
Avoidrotatingtheplatenroller.
Ifyoumustpullawaythemediabyforcecausingthe
platenrollertorotate,itisveryimportantthatthepower
hasbeenoffforaminuteormore.Ifnot,theelectronics
canbedamagedbeyondrepair.
4Cutoffanydamagedorwrinkledpart.
5Checkifthereisanyadhesivesomewhereintheprint
mechanism.Ifthereis,removeitusingacleaningcardora
cottonswabsoakedinisopropylalcohol.
Isopropylalcohol[(CH-3)2CHOH;CAS67-63-0]isa
highlyflammable,moderatelytoxic,andmildlyirritating
substance.
6ReloadthemediaasdescribedinChapter3.
7Switchonthepower.
8Readjustthemediafeedbyraisingandclosingtheprinthead
andthenpressingtheFeed/Pausekey.
