Switching On the Printer

Keyboard Color Code
Yellow:Operationoftheprinter(operatorlevel)
Green:Setuporservice(siteorservicetechnicianlevel)
White:Datainputtoprinter(operatorortechnicianlevel)
Beeper
Thebeeperacknowledgesthatakeyhasbeenpressed.Optionally,
anaudiblealarmcanbeenabledusinganIPLcommandthatwill
startbeepingatpaperoutandribbonoutandcontinueuntilthe
startofreload.
Beforeswitchingontheprinter,makethenecessaryconnections,
andcheckthattheprintheadisengaged.
SwitchonthepowerusingtheOn/Offswitchontherearplate.
The"Power"controllamponthefrontpanellightsupwhenthe
powerison.Waitforafewmomentswhiletheprinterloadsthe
programandrunssomeself-diagnostictests.
Afterashorttime,theprinterisinitialized.Theprogressofthe
initializationisindicatedbyanincreasingnumberofcolonson
thelowerlineinthedisplay.
Whentheinitializationiscompleted,alabelisfedout.The
followingmessage,whichistheIPLversionnumber,appearsin
theDisplayWindow,indicatingthattheprinterisreadyfor
operation.
