LT mode (Paper tray #2)
The machine has paper tray #2, from which paper is fed into the printing section in the LT
mode.
Just like the normal SF/high-speed feed modes, the LT mode uses the same components from
the ASF/maintenance drive gear to the paper pull-in gear shaft. After the following process, the
LT dedicated components are used.
1st stage
The ASF motor rotates counterclockwise (when viewed from the output gear side)
and its rotational torque is transmitted to the paper pull-in gear shaft via the same
route as in the normal SF mode.
The rotation of the paper pull-in gear shaft is transmitted via the LT idle gear 15 and
gear 39 to the gear train in the link gear holder LT ASSY
The rotation is further transmitted via the LT related components to the LT paper
pull-in rollers that rotate in the forward direction to pull in a sheet of paper loaded in
paper tray #2.
The paper feed motor also rotates counterclockwise at the same time as the ASF
motor to rotate the paper feed roller in the backward direction.
2nd stage After the pulled-in paper pushes the registration sensor actuator to turn the sensor
on, the ASF motor further rotates clockwise for the predetermined period to align
(register) the leading edge of the paper with the paper feed roller rotating in the
backward direction. (Registration in LT mode)
3rd stage Same as the 3rd stage in the normal SF mode.
