(7) At the front end of the document pressure roller shaft, press the front latch and remove the
shaft together with the document pressure roller 1. Then remove the two spring caps and
take the pressure roller springs out of the ADF cover.

(8) At the rear end of the shaft of the document pull-in/separation roller ASSY, release the lock
arm of the bushing from the hole provided in the ADF drive unit and turn it up. Pull the
document pull-in/separation roller ASSY up and out of the upper ADF chute.
Note: Take care not to drop the bushing from the front end of the roller shaft.
(9) While pushing up the front and rear tabs of the separation plate lightly with the tip of a flat
screwdriver, pull out the separation plate together with the separation rubber. Also remove
the two front spring plates.
