26.5 Troubleshooting for the Image

26.5.1 Color deviation
1) Color deviation
<Symptoms>
Original mode
All modes Color blurred in outline of white text or
illustration on a colored background
Text Mode Outline in black text on a colored
Text/Photo Mode background
Photo Mode Color blurred in outline of line or text
Map Mode
Cause/Section Step
1 Test printing (A3/LD)
Drum rotation 2 Check the drum motor operation in
abnormality the test mode (03) to see if there is
any rotation abnormality of the drum.
3 Check the drum motor operation in
the test mode (03) to see if there is
any rotation abnormality of the drum.
Inadequate 4 Check the value set for main motor
drum motor rotation speed. (Is the value
rotation speed significantly different from the default
value?)
Drum coupling 5 Loose coupling, damage,
and coupling deformation
on the
equipment side
Transfer belt 6 Deformation or damage of the
transfer belt or stains on the transfer
belt.
7 Are the gears on the transfer belt
side loosen, damaged or deformed?
8 Stain or damage of the drive roller
9 Does the rib of the transfer belt
overlap the collar on both edge of the
drive roller?
10 Is the belt edge damaged or stained? Clean or replace the transfer belt.
11 Peeling of the cleaning blade
(Large driving load)
12 Is the transfer belt unit installed
normally?
(Is the unit properly grounded?)
Laser optical 13 Check the grid pattern. Are the lines
unit of the primary scanning direction
warped?

Measure
Output the built-in grid pattern
Replace the drum motor.
Reconnect the connectors.
Replace the harnesses.
Replace the LGC board.
Reset drum motor speed to 128.
Check if they are installed
properly or replace the couplings.
Clean or replace the transfer belt.
Tighten the screws if they loosen,
or replace the gears.
Clean or replace the drive roller.
Adjust the position of the transfer
belt.
Replace the cleaning blade.
Check and correct the installing.
Replace the laser optical unit.
